The Power of Love: Total Eclipse of the Heart
By Erin Alpert
“Once upon a time,
I was falling in love,
Now I’m only falling apart.
There’s nothing I can do:
A total eclipse of the heart.”
?????--Total Eclipse of the Heart
It had been almost a week since “The Fight”, and neither Tom, nor B’Elanna felt comfortable about being near each other anymore. Torres was staying with her father, while Tom had “their” quarters to himself.... and he was lonely.
Harry and Erica on the other hand..... they were doing absolutely perfect.. not one fight, not one tiny argument.. sometimes they were so perfect, it was sickening....
Torres was stuck in fixing a stupid console with Rom... what fun. And the last person she expected to show up, did....
“Hey, Rom, can you hand me that... that thingy over there,” she called from underneath the console.
She didn’t get her tool, but she heard footsteps, “Rom?”
“Hey ‘Lanna,” it wasn’t Rom.
She pulled out from under the console, “Tom?”
“In the flesh,” he replied with a grin.
“I thought I said I never wanted to see you again.”
“Then close your eyes, because I’m here.”
“Rom, tell him that I’m never going to speak to him again.”
Rom looked around, then to Paris, “She says she’s never going to speak to you again.”
“Well, tell her.... tell her I’m sorry.”
“He says he sorry,” Rom relayed.
“Tell him.. I don’t forgive him.”
“She says...” he was cut off.
“I know what she said... Listen ‘Lann, I’m sorry, and if you can find it in your heart to forgive me.... you know where to find me,” and he left.
Torres shrugged, “Rom, can I have that tool now?”
“In the middle of the night,
I go walkin’ in my sleep.
Through the valley of fear,
To the river so deep.
And I’ve been searching for something,
Taken out of my soul,
Something I could never lose,
Something somebody stole.”

A few days past before he saw her again, but when he did, there was a break through.
She rang his bell, and he answered slowly.
“‘Lanna, I never thought I’d ever see you again.”
“Tom.... I accept your apology... and I owe you one myself.”
“I accept.. but ‘Lanna...”
“We need to talk...”
And so they had their talk.. and the sun came out again... the eclipse was over.... they got back together... moved back in.. and all was peaceful.. for now
